Who, where, and how much?

What equipment do I need?

I will go anywhere and speak to anyone.  There is no cost.  Some presentations I’ve given are:

    Military Culture briefs to psychologists

Veterans in Crisis briefs to law enforcement

    Resiliency presentations to veterans

Domestic Violence briefs to veterans, lawmakers, families

War, Training, and PTSD to psychologists, vets, and communities

If you have a projector and screen I can just show up with my laptop.  I also have a projector to use.  I use images and video to reinforce the points I am making.  I do NOT do “death by powerpoint” where I have slides filled with lots of text to read.

Examples

I have a few shared on iWork.com.  However these do not  truly convey my presentations as I do not simply read a slide.  There ought to be a reason to have a speaker.

Domestic violence is a pervasive problem among our military.  It is ignored and misunderstood.  Not all batterers are the same.  Looking at the influence of combat experience, training, masculine schemas and PTSD we are better equipped to help our veterans and their families.

The Army has moved to CSF (comprehensive soldier fitness) which is heavily informed by Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  I am 1 of 2 in Oregon trained in CSF.

I explain the basic foundation upon which the rest of the CSF skills rely upon.

PTSD has aspects of it that are desirable to the soldier.  I present PTSD not from an illness of either/or, but of from a perspective of context and application.  I use a lot of personal stories as both a combat veteran and someone who underwent therapy.

What is resiliency?  I give a brief introduction to the concept of resiliency, how it is not the same as simply ‘sucking it up’ and draw from both psychology and philosophy.
